Henderson was recently inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Fellowship with the American College of Trial Lawyers is extended only by invitation, after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Membership can never be more than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province.
Previously, Henderson received the Paul Green Award from the North Carolina Civil Liberties Union (1999); the Lawyer of the Year Award from the North Carolina Association of Black Lawyers (1999); and was named Lawyer of the Year by the George W. White Bar Association in Durham, North Carolina (1996).
